The former Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) has amalgamated into one Department- Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. International Trade Canada works to position Canada as a business leader for the 21st century. ITCan helps large and small Canadian companies expand and succeed internationally, promotes Canada as a dynamic place to do business, and negotiates and administers trade agreements.

  • Trade Policy Research  Trade Policy Research is an annual publication of trade-related research and analysis undertaken within and on behalf of the department over the preceding year

Trade, Investment & Economic Statistics 

  • Economic Indicators  Data on key indicators of the Canadian Economy 

  • Balance of Payments Transactions between Canada and its main trading partners, including imports and exports of goods and services, direct investment inflows and outflows, and the current account balance 

  • Merchandise Trade Annual statistics on merchandise imports and exports, by country and commodity, recorded on a customs basis 

  • Foreign Direct Investment Statistics Data on stocks of Canadian direct investment abroad and foreign direct investment to Canada by country and sectors for selected countries
  • Trade in Services The services sector is an important part of the Canadian economy. Trade in services outlines Canada's participation in services trade negotiations that provide the opportunity to expand our presence in world markets and increase the benefits that our citizens derive from trade and economic growth.
