Publication Date:

This field identifies when a reference was published.  The format is Month/Day/Year.   If only the month and year of a release is known the day is defaulted to 1.  (e.g. 6/1/2003 for June 2003).  If only the publication year is known the day and month are defaulted to 1 (e.g. 1/1/2002 for 2002).  All references are organized by publication date starting with the most recent.

This field identifies how frequently data is updated.  If it is left blank the reference does not have a know scheduled update. Other options for this field are Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual.  In some cases where a reference is updated more than once a year but with a frequency unknown the word "Current" is used.
